Her Elemental Skill summons the Horn of Spring's Call, which periodically attacks nearby opponents and heals the active character. Enemies hit by the Skill suffer reduced Hydro and Cryo RES, and the active character gains interruption resistance for the duration. If a Stellar Swirl reaction triggers while she is on the team, she additionally shreds Anemo RES and converts her damage buffs into Stellar Swirl bonuses. That conditional clause is the whole story: outside Stellar Swirl, she is a solid generic Hydro support. Inside it, she is a cornerstone. Her personal damage is negligible. Stellar Swirl is the reaction she was clearly designed around. With Vesna, a 5-Star Anemo Sword user who converts Cryo Swirl into Stellar Swirl, on the field, Vodyanitsa's full kit activates at once: Anemo RES shred, Stellar Swirl DMG% amplification, healing, and interruption resistance.

1. Odette — Skill twice to establish Cryo application

2. Cryo Traveler — Skill, Charged Attack, Burst

3. Vodyanitsa — Skill to open her support window

4. Vesna — Skill into enhanced state, re-activate special Skill, weave Normal and Charged Attacks to recharge, finish with Burst

Gear note: Vesna wants Scarlet Proof with ATK% goblets, not Cryo DMG% goblets. Stellar Swirl follows the same reaction formula as Lunar Reactions, so elemental DMG% does not affect its damage. Odette and Cryo Traveler follow the same logic, prioritizing CRIT and ATK% over elemental bonuses.

Substitutes: Yumemizuki Mizuki can replace Vesna as the on-field driver. A Yumemizuki + Vodyanitsa core is genuinely viable if you want Stellar Swirl without pulling Vesna. C6 Faruzan is a damage-neutral alternative to Vodyanitsa in Vesna teams, but she lacks the healing and sustain. Sandrone's Stellar-Conduct teams are generally stronger, but Vodyanitsa remains a strong fourth slot for Sandrone Stellar Swirl thanks to her Cryo RES shred and ATK% buffing through Tenacity and Thrilling Tales. Sucrose handles grouping and Anemo application.

Skirk Freeze

Vodyanitsa's Cryo RES shred and Hydro DMG buffing slot naturally into Freeze, particularly Skirk teams. Skirk's passive heavily incentivizes teams made exclusively of Cryo and Hydro characters, and Vodyanitsa satisfies that restriction while providing the healing Furina needs to maintain her Burst buff.

Skirk + Furina + Escoffier + Vodyanitsa

One caveat matters here. Vodyanitsa is not an upgrade over Escoffier in this slot. Community calculations suggest swapping Escoffier out for Vodyanitsa is a DPS loss. Her real value is as a replacement for Citlali or Mona, the older fourth-slot options. If you already run Escoffier, the marginal gain over Citlali is modest, reportedly around 7% in Skirk teams.
